Please Adjust Your Set wants to make it easy for you to share findings related to women in film and Television. Inequality is sometimes difficult to demonstrate - by tracking the real numbers, following the money, and making this information freely available in an unambiguous form, we hope to stir you to action.

The results for the 2011 Gemini Awards have been tabulated, with few surprises. In fact the percentage of women who won mirrors those nominated almost exactly: 19% of the winners at this year's Gemini Awards are women, while 81% of those awarded a Gemini this year are men.To download a PDF of these results click here

The Gemini Nominations have been announced, and in the craft categories, women comprised 20% of the nominees, while men comprised 80% of the nominees. Out of the 13 director categories, 7 had at least one nominee who is a woman. Out of the 68 nominees in the Director category, 12 are women. Men make up 82.5% of the nominees within the director category for Gemini Awards, while women make up just 17.5%. Last year women made up 20% of the nominees in this category. The 2011 Directors Guild of Canada nominations have been announced, and Please Adjust Your Set has tabulated how women rank in this years nominations. Here are the results.Out of 12 awards in the craft categories, at least one woman was nominated in 10 out of 12 categories. There are 95 nominees, of which 25 are women. Women make up 26% of all the nominees, while 74% of the nominees are men. To download these results as a pdf, click here.

2011 Genie Awards Nominations by Gender: the percentages. In addition to these stats, it's interesting to note that the top two winners at the Genie Awards this year were Incendies,(won in 7 out of 12 craft categories) and Barney's Version (won 4 out of 12 craft category awards).
